I remember watching and dreaming that one day I would have a fashion house of my own.
In the 90’s Milan was literally the fashion capital.

I started drawing clothes when I was very young.
While other dreams came and went, fashion was the one that always stayed.
Then, in 2012, I moved to Australia.
Life on the Gold Coast was completely different from the world I had known in Milan. Suddenly, my days were filled with Pilates, sunshine, ocean swims, salty hair and afternoons that turned into sunset drinks.
My lifestyle became more relaxed, but I never lost the part of me that loved Italian glamour.
Amelia Romeo was born somewhere between those two worlds, 14 years later.
I wanted to create pieces for the way I was actually living something I could wear to Pilates in the morning, take into the ocean and style again later that day.
Practical, but never boring. Feminine, flattering and always with a little sparkle.

The name brings my story full circle.
Amelia is for my grandmother, who first introduced me to the magic of fashion.
Romeo is for my son, who represents the life I’m building now and everything still to come.
One name holds my past. The other holds my future.
Today, Amelia Romeo is still a very small brand. I work on the designs, choose the fabrics, create the campaigns and pack every order myself from my living room.
It doesn’t look like the glamorous fashion house I imagined while watching television at seven years old... def not yet, anyway.
But when I see someone wearing one of my designs, I think that little girl would be very proud that I finally began.

I want this journal to feel like the fashion blogs we used to love: personal photographs, travel diaries, outfits, inspiration, honest stories and little glimpses behind the scenes.
No perfect corporate version of the journey. Just me, the clothes and everything happening behind the sparkle.
Thank you for finding my little corner of the internet.
Ciao for now
Love,
